I have been an avid Dave Ryan in the Morning Show (on 103.1 KDWB) for about 2 years. I have always been frustrated by the volume of commercials on the show but I put up with it. Took me several years to realize that MyTalk seems to never play any ads so I decided to test this theory.
On a single ride to work I timed all the talk radio interruptions. MyTalk had only 8:30 of advertising and endorsements. Dave Ryan had 17:50 of advertising in a 45 min drive!? That absurd, 33% of the broadcast was advertising. I know they need that to survive, I know ads are important. But why is it that MyTalk can have so few ads compared to KDWB? I would LOVE an explanation, because currently greed is the only explanation.
