WestJet Christmas Miracle: real-time giving

This is a very touching advertising initiative. I feel pretty bad for the people that joked around and asked for a scarf or a pair of boots when it turns out they could get a 50” TV or an Android Tablet. Can’t be too mad though, they got what they asked for.

I am really curious how big of an undertaking a stunt like this is… I mean everything considered the total value of all those gifts was … what? $100,000 tops? On the scale of national or global advertising campaigns that isn’t such a big deal. But I don’t know the whole story.

Regardless I am a huge supporter of commercials going viral on their own and EARNING the views they get.
