  • 50 Shades Movie Overview

The took one of the worst things from the book out of the movie: Anna’s “inner goddess.” Anna’s conversations with her inner goddess was some of the WORST dialogue every written. I was happy when I realized it was not carried over to the movie. The problem, however, was that inner dialogue was the primary conflict in the book. Anna had to talk herself into being with Christian and her own self doubt and fear of entering the relationship was what she had to overcome. In the movie she doesn’t need to overcome anything. It is like a single episode of a reality show in which a boy and girl meet. It’s actually quite dry. I give this movie a 0/1.

  • Keurig DRM

Keurig pulls an ultimate dick movie and installs real life DRM on their K-Cups. With the Keurig 2 system, all of your old 1.0 K-Cups and any third party K-Cups wills not work anymore. They are getting some backlash for this obviously. We take the discussion to a larger scale and consider what will happen in the future if more companies take a stand like this. What if Apple makes all 3rd party cords not work on their products for example?

  • Two-Party Consent

In the state of Minnesota, only a single party needs to consent to recording a conversation for it to be a legal recording. In some states two-party consent is required. It is because of those state you often hear automatic messages telling you that a call may be recorded. I question why two-party consent is ever required. Isn’t it JUST an extra layer of protection for criminals?

  • Social Media After Death

I sent an mass email at work and one of the auto replies I received was a message telling me this person has passed away. This got me thinking who is going to set up my auto-reply that says I have passed away? What about all of our social media? Facebook, staying ahead of the problem releases a legacy contact feature. Bravo.

  • Pono Audio Quality Shame

Pono player was one of the most successful Kickstarters ever and it made some bold claims. Pono is a music player, similar to an iPod, except it plays better sound. The Pono player has it’s own music store which offers a special premium music file made specifically for the player. The albums are $25. But is it actually any better? Well most people can’t tell.

    Jesse says:

Keanu Reeves Donates a lot of his money to charity. He lives in a “regular” apartment and doesn’t live life like a lot of these other movie stars. He doesn’t drive a fancy car. “Reeves gave US$80 million of his US$114 million earnings of The Matrix sequels, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, to the special effects and makeup staff. He is quoted as saying ″Money is the last thing I think about. I could live on what I have already made for the next few centuries.″” – I know its from wikipedia most reliable source ever, but this is what I wish more people would be like.
